Customer service

Today was the day for customer service and it was all good. Well, not all the results were what I might have wished, but every rep I contacted was helpful and pleasant.

All jokes about irate employees being said to go “postal” aside, we have found the Sierra Vista US Post Office employees to be the most pleasant of any we’ve ever seen. Our mailing address is a mail forwarding company in South Dakota and when we are settled in an area for awhile, we have them forward our mail to the local post office general delivery. There is always a line, count on it, no matter what post office or what time of day, but the folks here even smile! They greet people they know by name as they come in the door and one man told us they used to provide coffee for patrons in the lobby, years ago. Does that sound like your post office?

A problem on our cell phone bill put me in touch with four representatives from Verizon this afternoon and aside from telling me at first that what had happened was impossible, they went out of their way to be helpful. It does pay to check your phone bills, details and all. We haven’t gotten to the bottom of all this yet but I’m confident it will be resolved soon. Customer service is alive and well at Verizon.

Just for the record, it’s really true that you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, especially when it comes to customer service. My mother would have been proud!
