Last Sunday, this blog was superseded by a nap and this week the same thing very nearly happened. For some unknown reason, I’ve been more tired than usual and I just gave in.

There isn’t really very much to report. I had a doctor’s appointment about my ear congestion and have been using prescription ear drops while waiting for a referral to an ENT. With already compromised hearing in one ear due to the congestion and cotton blocking off any remaining sound, my world is pretty quiet. LeRoy’s isn’t though. He seems to think the TV is way too loud! Florence Marie hasn’t complained about hearing our TV at her place yet, so I don’t think it’s too bad. She has had a problem with her back and has seen a chiropractor a couple times this week, but it seems we’re both on the mend.

LeRoy has been his usual busy self this week, working on projects for the church and trying to install a replacement rearview camera system on Liberty. I’m sure it was much easier stringing wires from the back to the front of the bus before it had ceilings and walls! He told me yesterday that he thinks he has logistics all figured out until he gets to the back of the bus, and he may have even found a solution for that. The old system was black and white and a very fuzzy image at that. The new one is very sharp and in color, so we’ll even be able to tell that the little car following so closely behind is purple!

We did have a road trip to Bisbee on Wednesday. The weather was beautiful and we met up with friends there and in Huachuca City on the way back. Blake and Pennie Hardy own a Silver Eagle bus and we met them in October of 2010 when we were first retired. Their bus hasn’t moved out of its building near Huachuca City in the last two years and Blake said he would be willing to sell us two replacement windshields for an extremely fair price. Believe it or not, they fit into the back of our little PT Cruiser for the trip back without an inch to spare. LeRoy has calls in to various suppliers for windshield gaskets and as soon as he finds them, we will have the new glass installed. The passenger side windshield has crack from bottom to top and in the middle it branches off twice, so replacement had been a matter of “when”, not “if”. Encouraging friends who have done the job themselves have been telling LeRoy that he can do it himself, but he isn’t entirely convinced and neither am I, for what it’s worth.

The weather forecast is for cooler temperatures this week and a possibility of rain. 30% doesn’t sound like much but we haven’t had measurable precipitation since early February so we can hope.

About 2010liberty

Retirement agrees with us! After traveling in our 40' Silver Eagle bus conversion, whose name was Liberty, since 2010, it was time for a change. Now we spend the winter in Yuma, AZ and travel during the spring, summer and fall setting the Pace!
