Each week at the hymn sing, the last song we sing is “Til We Meet Again” and most weeks, someone is leaving for home. This past Sunday Florence Marie was among those headed back. I started to say back to colder weather, but I think she took some of it with her! The temperature has risen in Nebraska, just for her, I’m sure. It seems strange to look at her little RV and not see her sitting at the table!
Our trip to Phoenix was rather uneventful and we are grateful! Nakia and her boys, shown below with the sellers of the bus, are glad to have their “home” home, as one of the boys says.
We came home one evening this week to see 8 or 10 javelinas tearing into the trashbags from the trash cans by the back drive, which they had knocked over. Stubborn little creatures! LeRoy drove the car clear up to them before they began to disperse! It was dark when we saw them, so this photo is just an image I picked up. LeRoy has since made a lid for the one open can and they are all fastened with bungee cords. The trash worker will still have to get out and undo it, but the truck will be able to at least dump it.
I’ve been following the CaringBridge blog of my friend Angie in Wichita who has been given a terminal diagnosis after several years of struggling with leukemia. Her faith in the Lord has never waivered and she exhibits peace far beyond her years. It seems to me that she is far more determined to encourage everyone she knows to accept Christ as their lord and king than I am. I hope I can learn from her example and be a bolder witness!
