Friends are friends forever

Do you know the song “Friends are Friends Forever”? It says a chapter of our lives is through. Well, yes and no. This morning we were recognized as new affiliate members of Northwest Community Friends church just at the end of the worship service…and then we got in Liberty and hit the road. Not exactly the scenario most would envision, but we know we will be back. We enjoyed lots of hugs and good-byes, even a wave and a blown kiss from Nathan, our pastor’s son, before we left. We’re saying good-bye temporarily to mountains and desert and heading for mid-America to see our daughter and her family for a few weeks. Earlier this week we had dinner with our son Robert in Tombstone while he was briefly at Ft. Huachuca for training, so we’re glad for a family “fix”.

This week we’ll spend some time in Truth or Consequences, NM visiting LeRoy’s cousin Raymond Fuller. Oh yes, and we’ll spend time in the hot springs at River Bend Hot Springs while we’re there, just because we can.
