Out of the deep freeze

I try not to brag when so many of our friends have been hit hard by the ice, snow and extremely cold temperatures, but…I’m so grateful for the freedom we have to leave it all behind! While folks here in Arizona have been grumbling about the “cold”, daytime temps in the 50s are NOT cold and officially, Tucson hasn’t reached freezing at night yet. The humidity has been substantially higher than usual here but we haven’t had much actual precipitation. And the sunshine! Have I mentioned the sunshine? Combine that with very little wind and our climate is really pretty terrific.

This week, on the only really chilly, rainy afternoon, we drove to the Pima County Fairgrounds for an RV show. Not sure what I was expecting but I was disappointed with what we saw. I think it was all done by one dealership, for one thing. We did have fun checking out travel trailers, though, since a high school classmate of mine has expressed an interest in full-timing in a trailer or a 5th wheel that they can pull with their existing pickup. We did find one that we thought had sufficient kitchen storage for living in long term, but no closet space at all. I guess in a trailer, you’re just supposed to go on weekend camping trips with jeans, shorts and T-shirts. We have our share of those, too, but since our choice for winter is more city than country, I like to have a place for dresses and dressier clothes as well.

While we’re not expecting snow any time soon, at least the inside of Liberty has taken on a decidedly Christmas-y appearance. The stockings are a little large to be hung by the “chimney”, but we do have a “fire” in the fireplace!

I’ve started volunteering at our church and am having fun dredging up old spreadsheet skills. This time, I had the advantage of Dropbox as an option besides a thumb drive to take the finished product from my home computer to the one at the church. Come Tuesday, we’ll see what other project Adam has for me next!

About 2010liberty

Retirement agrees with us! After traveling in our 40' Silver Eagle bus conversion, whose name was Liberty, since 2010, it was time for a change. Now we spend the winter in Yuma, AZ and travel during the spring, summer and fall setting the Pace!
