Mid-morning today it started to rain, at first just a few sprinkles on the front windows and then heavier, until you could see it out the side windows.
Before long, snowflakes started mixing with the rain and eventually they grew bigger and bigger until they took over and began to accumulate.
How often do you see swim suits in the snow? Or snow-capped cactus?
An hour or so later, the mountains beyond Desert Trails were white, clear to the ground.
And now, half an hour later, the snow is dissolving into the warm ground.
I couldn’t help thinking of a song I heard probably 20 years ago, Somewhere It’s Snowing. The words say “And somewhere it’s snowing. See the soft drifting down as the snowflakes surrender to the hardening ground? Like the good grace of Jesus that now covers my sin. In the kingdom of heaven, it’s snowing again!”
Isaiah 1:18a says “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” I am so thankful for the truth of that statement. God’s grace is sufficient for even ME!
Amen 🙂
Somehow, I thought your intent in wintering in Arizona was to avoid such weather. I guess it’s okay if it’s pretty and doesn’t last too long.
Yeah, well, the best laid plans of mice and men… At least it didn’t last long and we’re expecting 80s this weekend. I am looking forward to it!
