We’ve moved into new surroundings! Tuesday afternoon we left the shelter of the building on The Landing (our acre near Sedgwick) and moved to the street in front of Heidi and Tim’s house so we’d be sure to see them before we pulled out. Here are our good-bye girls on Wednesday morning, Heidi and her “mini me”, Jadelyn.
We love catching up with long time friends while we’re in the Wichita area, but we were both suffering from hitch itch, that desire to be on our way to new horizons. We made our way out of Kansas rather slowly due to gusty winds that made it a real chore to herd a 40-foot billboard down the road. But this morning, we pulled into Woodland Park, CO just in time for the weekly farmer’s market we enjoy so much. We found several of our favorite vendors along with some new ones. We tried samples of apricot habanero jelly, extra hot, hot and wimpy salsas as well as breads of several varieties. Needless to say, we weren’t hungry when we left but we did have a bag full of bing cherries, calibacita squash, roasting ears, homemade goat cheese from the smallest dairy in the state and homemade tamales. Eat your heart out!
We’ll be at the Bristlecone Lodge and RV Park until the last of July and these are our new surroundings.
Our site is next to the same fellow we were next to last year. He’s an interesting guy and over the last year he has spray painted the bottom portion of his rig, one section at a time. It looks pretty good!
We’ve already started making plans to take in sights we haven’t seen recently or ever, so we should have lots of fun in the coming weeks. And when we’re not out hiking or shopping, we’ll be at home, as always, in Liberty.
