Well, we can’t say there was no progress, but the 13th came and went and the building still isn’t finished. We’ve gone from a blank piece of ground to piles of lumber, then stud walls and now…wait for it…metal side walls and framed door openings!

The top two feet are covered in a clear material that will allow sunlight in. The walk-in door on the side is in place, but so far no roof, floor or doors. We have the builder’s assurance (?) that he’ll finish it soon. He knew we were leaving and that we’ll pay the remainder when we get back in September. That’s the best we can do at this point!

Yesterday as we were getting ready to pull out, combines pulled into the field across the road. Harvest time in Kansas is always exciting. We’ve enjoyed watching Ben play baseball and Jadelyn play T-ball while we’ve been in Kansas. Last night Ben was playing first base and did something I’ve never seen done before. He singlehandedly performed a double play! The bases were loaded and the batter hit a grounder almost directly to Ben just off first and he tagged the runner there, then stepped on the base and put the batter out as well!

After the game, Ben and Bailey and enough stuff to last them a week joined in Liberty and we took off, destination Colorado!

About 2010liberty

Retirement agrees with us! After traveling in our 40' Silver Eagle bus conversion, whose name was Liberty, since 2010, it was time for a change. Now we spend the winter in Yuma, AZ and travel during the spring, summer and fall setting the Pace!
