Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day started early this year. In January, one of my Facebook friends suggested that we give our husbands 14 days of Valentines, beginning on the 1st. I had so much fun! I found kids’ cards, candies of several varieties and cards. When you don’t have to think about finding THE right card for the occasion, you find lots of fun messages. Today I’m saving LeRoy’s card until we go out later. I hope he’s enjoyed it as much as I have!

Our RV park had a potluck last evening in honor of the occasion. I’m still working on making the convection oven put out perfect results every time, but between the oven and a little stovetop time, the chicken rice casserole turned out pretty good. I have better luck baking dessert type things, so I had made a pizza pan sized cookie on Saturday and wrote a message on the top with icing. We had a great evening, eating good food and playing Mexican train dominoes afterward.

Speaking of dominoes, it’s amazing how each group has slightly different rules for playing the same game. I remember Mother and Daddy talking about playing Mexican train with their friends in Phoenix when they wintered there. LeRoy played with the guys, I played with the ladies and both of us had high scores for our group. If only the high score really won!
