After an exciting first week on the road during which LeRoy was successful in resurrecting the generator, we’re settled in for a while in southwest New Mexico. This is the first time since we left Wichita that we’ve planned to be in one place long enough to take off the cabinet and refrigerator door latches. I never thought about how many cabinet doors I open in the process of making a meal until they were all latched! Guess I need to be more efficient with my storage, especially the things that just have to be tucked away when we get ready to move.
LeRoy’s cousin lives in Truth or Consequences and we’re ensconced in an RV park just outside of town. We haven’t seen Raymond in almost 12 years so we have a lot of catching up to do! But first, FOOD: a Mexican meal at LaCocina restaurant. Mine was a HUGE smothered pork burrito with a green chile sauce made with Hatch peppers. Needless to say, half of it came home in a box and is now residing in our overstuffed fridge. We did some grocery shopping this afternoon and guess what? All WalMarts are not created equal. The one here doesn’t carry the gingersnaps LeRoy likes. We may have to have them airlifted in!
Next on the agenda will be finding the satellites for the DirecTV dish. Or fixing the dash instruments in the Jeep that all went on strike this afternoon. Do you think all these mechanical things belong to the same union???
